Takamine's GLD12E NS is a dreadnought shaped guitar with the benefit of a shorter scale length. This provides a softer, warmer sound due to the lowered tension of the 630mm scale. The spruce top articulates the percussive richness of the okoume back and sides for a bold voice. Transition to the stage is achieved through Takamine's TP-3G electronics. With its 3 band EQ and chromatic tuner, dialing in the right tone is easy!

The 11 and 12 series differ in the wood used for the top. Each series offers a standard Dreadnought shape as well as a more compact NEX shape.
Both models in the 12 series feature a spruce top, providing greater brightness and clarity. Otherwise, the mahogany sides, jatoba fingerboard, and TP-3G preamp are identical to the 11 series.
