Het begon allemaal aan het eind van de 70-er jaren (1970); bij Jackson noemen ze het wel het begin van de bloedlijn. In die tijd nam heavy metal-muziek enorm toe in populariteit. Dat zorgde ervoor dat Charvel’s Guitar Repair van Grover Jackson het epicentrum werd van de heavy metal-gitaren. In 1980 bracht Jackson samen met Randy Rhoads (Ozzy Osbourne) zijn eerste nieuwe model gitaar uit, de Concorde. Een witte gitaar met een strakke, futuristische en hoekige vorm. Het tweede model werd een legende, de allereerste Jackson Rhoads. Daarna volgden modellen als de Kelly, King V, Double Rhoads, Soloist, Dinky, Concert Bass, de PC1 en de Warrior. En dan hebben we het nog niet eens over de Jackson signature-instrumenten van muzikanten als Phil Collen (Def Leppard), Mark Morton and John Campbell (Lamb of God), Phil Demmel (Machine Head), Chris Beattie (Hatebreed), Adrian Smith (Iron Maiden), Matt Tuck (Bullet For My Valentine) et cetera. En die Jackson-legende blijft maar groeien!
