New Circuits
Novation was probably getting ready to reveal them in the New Year but we’ve got an early glimpse of these intriguing new takes on the Circuit format. Very exciting! We haven’t caught any details but let’s look at what the photos tell us.

It’s entirely possible, knowing how awesome Novation is at manipulating firmware, that these machines could share the same internal engine and external hardware and swap between being one or the other. It’s also likely that the photo is just of the back of the Rhythm and Tracks has simpler connections without the audio inputs.

Either way the Novation Circuit is a massively popular and fun groove box production machine and this looks like a fabulous evolution and cool direction.

The shape and the design look familiar to us. Typical Circuit only adapted to the 2020 styling. According to the source, the Novation Circuit Rhythm is a sampling groove box that can sample via the stereo input backside but also load samples via the microSD card reader. There are no details, but it looks like the developers use a new sampling engine paired with the beloved Circuit workflow. How deep this sampling engine is not known. Especially how far you can bend and manipulate samples.

On the backside, you can see a stereo input for sampling, stereo output, sync, full MIDI I/O, a microSD reader, and USB-C connectivity. What a shame it looks like the new generation of the Circuit does not have a helpful display. Many have wished that.
